Arizona Day 5: Musuem, The Pool, and One Last Meal By Natalie

Day 5 was my last full day in Arizona.  The day started with a trip to a museum with Natalie and the kids.  We had fun.  Then we went to one of those restaurants where you can get breakfast all day so I clearly enjoyed some breakfast food.  After that we went back to the house.  I hung out for a bit, then decided to go in the pool because I knew when I got back home it wouldn't be pool weather.  That evening one of Natalie's friend's came over for dinner.  Dinner included:  ham, a potato casserole, a spinach dish, and fudge for dessert.  Since Natalie made it, of course it was delicious.  :-)  We also took some funny pictures with my camera and with Natalie's camera.  Unfortunately, my camera decided that now would be a good time for its battery to die so I am unable to post them at the moment.  I will try to remember to post the pics tomorrow.

Arizona Day 4: Baseball, Flat Stanley, Shopping and of course more food

Day 4  The day began with a trip to Chase Field (I think that's what it's called???), the place where the Diamondbacks play.  I'd never gotten to tour a baseball stadium before.  It was quite fun.  Also, as we were leaving, we ran into someone with a Flat Stanley.  I had one with me.  I have never been on vacation with Flat Stanley and ran into another Flat Stanley.  It was quite exciting.  His Stanley was from Georgia.  Here are a few pics:

Then we went to The Biltmore, mainly because it was in my 1000 Place to See Before You Die book so I figured might as well see something that's in that book while I'm out there.  We just walked around a little bit, didn't spend a ton of time there.  Then went to some place called Ling and Louie's for lunch.  I had some delicious sushi.  Below is a pic from The Biltmore.

After lunch, we went to Scottsdale.  We did some shopping and enjoyed some ice-cream, which we justified having because we parked so far away and would be walking off at least a few of those calories.  :-)  The picture below didn't come out so well, but it's supposed to be a picture of the Old Town Scottsdale sign.

That evening we went out to dinner.  The service was not that good, but I enjoyed spending time with Natalie, Michael, and the kids.  We also made a brief stop at Target.  I was good and did not buy anything there.  :-)

Arizona Day 3

The title I wanted was too long:  Arizona Day 3:  Hobby Lobby, Schools, Groceries, More Food, Thanksgiving and Christmas in April and a Little Trivia
So sorry for the delay in between blog posts.  I've been doing something crazy lately and trying to get a full night's sleep.  Imagine that!  Better do it while I can because in another two weeks or so work gets crazy again for a few weeks.  Anyway, let's get back to the Arizona trip.  I didn't take too many (any?) pictures on Day 3.  In the morning, we went to a park with a Splash Pad so Natalie's children could have some fun and enjoy the water.  Her husband came too.  I think the kids had fun.  There were quite a few people there.  Then after lunch, I got to see the school where her oldest son goes for pre-school (we took him to pre-school). I'm such a dork, but I kind of enjoyed that.  Then we went to Hobby Lobby.  My friend Natalie has mentioned this store multiple times in her blog posts so I was quite intrigued and eager to see this place.  I'd never been to one.  I can see why she likes it.  I do believe we spent over an hour there and I'm sorry to say we were a couple of minutes late to pick up her son.  :-(  It wasn't on purpose.  There were tons of people buying stuff and the check out lady was not too quick.  I go all the way to AZ and what do I buy (in addition to the sweater I'd bought the previous day in ARIZONA  IN APRIL--who does that?!) I bought stamps--not postage stamps, decorative ones--for THANKSGIVNIG and CHRISTMAS.  Did I mention that it was April?!  My mother is big into stamping, she makes cards, etc.  She makes cards for everything.  She gave me a St. Patrick's Day card.  I've never received a Thanksgiving card from her (at least not that I can remember, but who does Thanksgiving cards?) so as a bit of a joke, I bought her Thanksgiving stamps so she can make Turkey Day cards.  :-)  One year (and one year only) I made my own Christmas cards.  My mom has told me I should do this again.  Well, on a whim, I bought Christmas stamps and have decided I will make my own Christmas cards this year.  Let's see if I feel the same way in November!  I may have to be like Mom and make them in July.  Now a trip to visit Natalie would not be complete without a trip to a grocery store (inside joke) so we also went to the grocery store that day as well as to Sonic for "happy hour" (one of the few times of the year I will drink a soda).  And that night's fabulous meal included:  broccoli salad, chicken roll ups, and strawberry chocolate chip cookies.  I THINK that was also the night we attempted to Skype with another friend of ours (which didn't go so well so we had to try Face Time, no luck there and finally found some success with another program, oh, the joys of technology!)  I created a trivia game for us to play, which was cheesy fun.  Well, at the rate I am going, you should be done reading about this trip by the end of June--aren't you glad I only went for 6 days?  And most of Day 6 was spent on a plane so maybe I'll be finished blogging about it by mid-June lol.
